A refund of ₹43,992 from IndiGo

A cancelled IndiGo flight was refused a refund. ChatGPT helped him read the rules, see the contradiction in the replies and write drafts. After AirSewa, DGCA and CPGRAMS the full ₹43,992 was refunded.

Done with ChatGPTEasy

What was done

On 16 March 2026 he writes in r/indianaviation about a dispute with IndiGo after a cancelled flight and a refused refund. He used ChatGPT as help with the strategy. On 22 January the email came that the flight was cancelled. He tried to pick another flight, but the site failed. No confirmation came. He booked another airline. Later IndiGo refused the refund and wrote that he had accepted an alternate flight. He went on through customer service, AirSewa, a complaint to the DGCA and an appeal in CPGRAMS. ChatGPT helped him read aviation rules, build replies, see contradictions and make drafts. The contradiction was the email "Your flight canceled" against the claim "Flight was never cancelled." The full refund of ₹43,992 was processed.

How it went

The full ₹43,992 was refunded, as he writes. The post does not have the route, the booking code or the airline's final letter.

Worth knowing

"22 January" has no year in the post. The rules are not quoted. That the refund was processed is his report. This is not legal advice. He sent the drafts himself.

How to do it

  1. Collect the emails and write a timeline before you ask for a draft.
  2. Ask the model to point at sentences that contradict each other.
  3. Read the draft. Do not send it and do not file a complaint before you have said yes.

Try it with ChatGPT

Read [email] and [reply] about [flight]. List contradictions and write the next draft. Do not send it and do not file a complaint until I say yes.

Replace text in brackets with your own.

Done when. The draft has been read against the emails, and it has not been sent and the complaint has not been filed without a yes.

Safety rule. The agent does not send the draft and does not file the complaint until you say yes.
