14 complaints drafted, the post says a $2,800 fine

Argona asked Claude Code to find violations in the Bushwick building and file complaints. The post says 14 complaints were drafted, that the inspector found 11 of them plus 3 more, and that the fine was $2,800. The rent went from $2,150 to $2,550.

What was done

On 30 April 2026 Argona writes that the rent went up by $400. The renewal for a 1br in Bushwick went from $2,150 to $2,550. He writes that he lives in the building. The ceiling is cracked. The radiator hisses. The front door has not locked since February. He opened Claude Code and told it to find every violation and file the complaints legally. After 48 hours it was running on a VPS at $4. It pulled open violations at HPD for the building's BIN number. It cross-checked DOB back to 2019. It read the housing maintenance code, 847 sections. It drafted 14 complaints to 311. 4 of them were marked class C. The inspector found 11 of the 14, and 3 more. The post says the fine was $2,800. On day 19 a text arrived from the landlord. The agent later flagged 2 more violations on the floor above.

How it went

The post says 11 of 14 were found, and that the fine was $2,800. It says the rent rise is blocked until the violations are cured and inspected again. The complaint numbers are not in the post.

Worth knowing

The post does not show the complaint receipts or the fine notice. It says the complaints were sent on a staggered schedule, without showing the times. Check the original.

How to do it

  1. Ask the agent to list public violations for the address, and which rule each issue matches. Do not send.
  2. Read each draft. Remove what does not match what you have seen yourself.
  3. Do not file a complaint, and do not answer an inspector, until you say yes.

Try it with Claude Code

Find public violations for [address] and draft one complaint per violation, citing [code]. Do not send the complaints. Do not answer inspector messages. Do not file anything until I say yes.

Replace text in brackets with your own.

Done when. You have read each draft, and no complaint was filed before you said yes.

Safety rule. No complaint is filed, and no inspector is answered, until you have said yes.
